Although wearing many hats within her family, church, and community, Sister Martha Morris serves as the Grand Worthy Associate Matron for the Star of Hope Grand Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star. She is married to Mr. Johnny C. Morris, Jr., and to this union, 3 children were born.  She also has 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
As a member of New Light Missionary Baptist Church in Minden, LA, the Grand Associate Worthy Matron serves as the Deaconess Chairperson, member of the Pastor Aid Ministry, the Mission Ministry, and the Finance Committee Administrator. She also serves as the Vice President of the Northwest 14th District Women’s Department.
Sis. Morris recently retired from a 45-year career in administration in the credit union industry. Her career tenure included being the Vice President of the Shreveport Federal Credit Union, Manager of the Grambling Federal Credit Union, and organizer/Treasurer/Manager of the UBC Credit Union. In addition to the Grand Associate Matron’s career achievements, her involvement with various credit union leadership groups culminated in her induction into the Hall of Fame in August 2014.

Furthermore, she helped establish the Appendant Bodies (High Degrees) based in Minden, LA, after advancing through the degrees, herself. Since then, Sis. Morris has served in various capacities within the several houses of the Appendant Bodies.
With all that the Grand Associate Worthy Matron does, she finds time for her hobbies of sewing, fishing, traveling, and reading – her favorite books being the Holy Bible and “Jesus Christ, CEO… Using Ancient Wisdom for Visionary Leadership” by Laurie Beth Jones.

“I put GOD first in all aspects of my life…for I do not mind letting everyone know I am an advocate for GOD.  My favorite scripture – I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me.  All things are possible through GOD.  My mission is to serve.  It is not about me, but the Master will. I am a faithful member of the order and committed to serving others. My greatest award is serving the Living God and others.”
